Get intentional with marketing your business on Instagram
It's easy to get carried away with the endless scroll, am I right?
If you think you‘re wasting too much time on Instagram as a business owner. STOP what you’re doing and change your habits. Easier said than done, I know.
Ok so let’s talk about how you can be more intentional with your time on the gram and get more intentional. Is that even possible? Absolutely yes!
Let’s break down how we can stop wasting our time spent on the app.
You need clarity
What are your goals? Is your content strategy in line with those goals?
Who is your ideal client? Is your content attracting and resonating with your ideal client? Do they find it helpful? Inspiring? Entertaining? Informative? Know exactly who your target audience is, and create content for them.
Is your messaging clear - does your community understand exactly who you are, how you can help and what they get by hitting follow.
Promote your offers or products
Don't be shy to sell your services or products. You should be sharing promotional content weekly. Avoid treating your business like a hobby when trying to market on Instagram. My motto; lead with value followed by letting people know how you can serve them.
Know what is working and what is not
Check your insights and be clear on what type of content is performing well (comments, shares, website taps, email)
Once you have an idea of what content is resonating the most with your community, explore sharing it in different ways. Posts, Reels, IG Video, Stories. By using all different content forms you have a better chance of connecting with all the personalities in your community.
Reels & collaborations
Create Reels. Honestly, if your goal is growth and visibility, you should be getting in front of that camera and infusing Reels into your weekly content strategy. Do you have to post them daily? Absolutely not! Find your happy balance, but do add them into your plan.
The longevity and reach of Reels is like no other form of content on Instagram! So give them a try!
If you are already comfortable in front of the camera, I suggest looking for opportunities to connect with others who have similar audiences and go Live on Instagram! This is a fantastic way to connect with a new audience and promote more growth for your account.
Managing your time
Last but not least the amount of time you spend on the app - how can you manage that?
Reply to your DMs and comments at specific times during the day rather than continuously checking.
Use a planning app to schedule your posts.
If you struggle with the continuous Instagram checks - set app time limits that will restrict you from using the app at certain times.
When spending time engaging, (interacting with accounts by commenting on posts & story replies) don't get carried away. Spend time engaging when you're about to post, this will help boost visibility & initial engagement of the content you are sharing.
I hope these tips give you something to think about - ask yourself what habits are you doing right now that you could change to make more of an impact fo your business and your time.
Regardless of how you choose to manage your business on Instagram time and consistency play a huge part in success. You have to understand that if you want results, high engagement, and more growth you will have to invest time weekly if not daily to see the outcome you hope for.
