Instagram metrics that matter most for business owners

Are you a small business owner that feels like Instagram is an uphill battle?

No matter what you do, you see minimal engagement, follower growth is slow, and you do not see results?

Here’s my friendly reminder to you!

Instagram engagement and follower growth are not the most important metric to focus on for your business.

Follower growth and engagement rate, of course, are metrics to follow and pay attention to, but my goal is to make it clear that there are other metrics we should be looking at as well.

Here is a list of metrics all small business owners should be tracking on Instagram.

STORY LINKS

Are users tapping on your story links?

WEBSITE TAPS

Are users taping the link in your bio/ story or product tags?

Is your website traffic increasing?

SHARES & SAVES

Are users saving or sharing your content?

DM's & STORY REPLIES

Are conversations getting started with your followers daily?

UGC & TAGS

Is there an increase in brand awareness through UGC & social proof and brand mentions?

COMMENTS

Do you see people engaging with your content by leaving comments and asking questions?

Try not to let the number of your followers define the success of your business - it’s so much more than that.

We can all get wrapped up in that vanity metrics, and it’s important to remember that there is way more content now crowding the online space more than ever! Instagram users are leaning into video content and sharing more regularly!

Engagement will continue to decrease as Instagram gets busier!
